Alan Greenfield was elected by the public to serve a five-year term as fire commissioner in the Barnum Island Fire District (New York) after eight years as a volunteer fire-medic. In memory of his mother and father-in-law, Alan and his wife donated funds to purchase a mobile intensive care unit ambulance to Magen David Adom (Israel’s emergency medical, disaster, ambulance and blood bank service) soon after the October 7 massacre in Israel.
