Katy Sheely Wheelock

Katy Sheely Wheelock’s career in French language teaching since graduation has led to her founding a company, Vive l’expérience, to engage French language teachers on immersive trips to Senegal. As a national vice president, Katy is serving in her eighth year on the executive council of the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF) and also serves as vice president for her local AATF Northern Virginia-D.C. chapter. Five years ago, she was awarded the rank of chevalier (knight) by the president of France in the Ordre des Palmes Académiques for her work promoting the French language and culture and was recently promoted to the rank of officer.
